Frozen Dark Chocolate Banana Coins

This is barely a recipe, more like inspiration! I am a huge fan of the Tru Fru brand frozen chocolate dipped desserts, however those can be $PENSIVE! They could not be easier, or cheaper to make at home yourself! For when you want dessert, but something a little lighter.

Frozen Dark Chocolate Banana Coins

Servings: 4-5; Prep Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 10 oz bag Ghirardelli dark chocolate melting wafers

  • 2-3 ripe bananas

Instructions:

  1. Slice bananas and have ready on a plate to dip. Get out a baking tray to place the dipped bananas.

  2. Get out a double boiler, or a glass bowl that fits over a medium pot. Fill the bottom pot 1/2 of the way with water. Place the top pot or bowl over that. Heat on medium-high heat, but you do not want the water boiling. Pour the wafers in the top pot/bowl. Use a spatula to continuously stir until melted. Once melted remove from heat.

  3. Immediately using a fork or spatula start to dip the bananas in the chocolate and place on baking tray. Work quickly as the chocolate will begin to harden.

  4. Once finished dipping place tray in fridge for at least 30 minutes to let harden completely.

  5. Once hardened, move to a tupperware and in to the freezer. Enjoy!
